Effective date: September 25, 2026
I. Gitelman, CPA ("we," "us" or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and retain personal information when you visit www.igcpa.com, submit a website or Facebook or Instagram lead form, contact us, or inquire about or receive our accounting, tax, ERP or fractional CFO services.
This policy supplements our engagement agreements and any separate client privacy notices. It does not replace legally required financial privacy notices or taxpayer consents, and it does not authorize a use or disclosure of tax return information that applicable law prohibits.
Inquiries and lead forms. We collect information you provide, such as your name, email address, telephone number, business name, industry, role, requested services, desired start date, preferred contact times and messages. Meta may prefill contact fields from your profile; please review them before submitting. We may also receive the form or campaign identifier associated with your inquiry.
Client services. If you engage us, we may collect the identification, tax, financial, accounting, payroll, transaction and business records needed for the agreed services. Depending on the engagement, this can include Social Security or taxpayer identification numbers, income and expense records, bank information, and information about employees or dependents. We may receive records from you, your authorized representatives and service providers, or government agencies as permitted by law.
Website use. Our website and its hosting providers may collect technical information such as IP address, browser and device details, pages visited, referring pages, and access times. Cookies and similar technologies may support website operation and embedded features. The section on cookies below explains available controls.
We use information to respond to inquiries, assess whether our services fit your needs, arrange consultations, prepare proposals, perform authorized engagements, communicate with clients, administer billing and records, maintain and improve our website and services, prevent misuse, and meet legal and professional obligations.
When you submit a lead form, we use the details to follow up about the services you requested by phone or email and, if you choose to communicate there, through Messenger or Instagram. Submitting an inquiry does not create an accountant-client relationship or constitute consent to unrelated marketing, automated marketing calls or promotional text messages. Where separate consent is required, we obtain it before that activity.
We disclose personal information only as appropriate for the purposes described in this policy and subject to applicable law and professional duties. Recipients may include providers that help us host the website, manage communications and appointments, store records, process payments, or deliver accounting and tax services. They receive information needed for their functions, subject to applicable confidentiality and security requirements.
We may disclose information to government agencies, your authorized advisers or other recipients to perform an engagement or carry out your instructions; to comply with legal process or other legal obligations; and to protect lawful rights or investigate fraud or security incidents. Any transfer connected with a business sale or reorganization remains subject to applicable confidentiality, notice and consent requirements.
We do not sell or rent client or lead contact information or provide it to other businesses for their independent marketing. We do not send promotional text messages. The use of Meta lead forms and third-party website features is described below.
Tax return information and nonpublic personal financial information receive additional protections under applicable law. We use or disclose tax return information only as permitted by law or under a separately obtained consent when required. A website visit, lead-form submission or acceptance of this policy is not a taxpayer consent under Internal Revenue Code Section 7216.
Please do not enter Social Security numbers, bank account details, tax returns, passwords or other sensitive documents in advertising lead forms, social media messages or general website inquiry fields. Contact us to arrange an appropriate method for exchanging sensitive records. We do not use lead forms to collect documents needed to prepare a tax return.
When you submit a Facebook or Instagram lead form, Meta processes information under its own privacy policy and makes your submitted responses available to us. We handle the information we receive as described here. Meta also processes interactions with ads and its platforms for its own purposes. You can review Meta's privacy policy at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/ and manage platform settings through your Meta account.
Our website includes links to third-party websites and may display embedded content, including YouTube videos. Those providers may receive technical information or set cookies when their content loads or you interact with it. Their privacy policies govern their own processing. Google's privacy policy is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy. Links to other sites do not extend this policy to those sites.
We do not currently use Meta Pixel or Google Analytics on our website. Our website may still use operational cookies, hosting logs and third-party embedded content such as YouTube videos. You can use your browser settings to block or delete cookies and manage any consent controls offered on the website. Blocking cookies may affect some features. You can also manage advertising preferences within Facebook, Instagram and Google. These controls do not necessarily remove information already provided to us; contact us with questions or requests.
Where applicable law requires consent for a technology or a right to opt out of targeted advertising or sale or sharing of personal information, we will honor those requirements, including recognized browser-based opt-out signals where required. A general browser Do Not Track setting is not necessarily the same as a legally recognized opt-out signal.
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including responding to inquiries, performing engagements, maintaining required records and resolving disputes. Retention depends on the information, the relationship and applicable tax, accounting, legal and professional requirements. A request to delete information may not override a required retention period or legal hold.
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the information and our legal obligations, and limit access to people and providers with a business need. No system or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. Please contact us promptly if you believe information shared with us has been compromised.
You may contact us to ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction or deletion, or ask us to stop promotional communications. You may unsubscribe using an available email unsubscribe link or contact us directly. We may still send communications necessary to provide an agreed service or meet a legal obligation.
Depending on your residence, the nature of the information and the laws that apply to our firm, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of personal information, or to opt out of specified processing. These rights are subject to applicable exceptions, including those for certain financial information and business-context information. This policy does not limit rights granted by law.
Send requests to the contact below and describe the request and how to reach you. We may need to verify your identity or an authorized representative's authority without collecting unnecessary sensitive information. We will respond within applicable legal time limits. If we deny a request, you may ask us to review the decision by replying or emailing with the subject "Privacy appeal." We will explain available appeal options where required. We do not discriminate against people for exercising applicable privacy rights.
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The effective date above identifies the current version. We will provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by law. Updates do not by themselves authorize a new use of previously collected information when separate consent is required.
